I try not to be late. I used to be chronically late, but, not anymore. The key for me is (being a busy guy) to try and leave tasks that need to be done but can be done anywhere (some phone calls, some internet stuff I can do from my phone, etc.) to last on my list of daily things. Then I try to leave early, so, if I can to an appointment 30 minutes too soon, I can continue to check things off my list. That being said, I'm running late now! Maybe I need to get a dog as an excuse!

thanks for your response JT - it's always interesting to get your comments... and about that dog... maybe not...

As someone who hates to be late and almost always is (because of my partner) I have learned to try & breathe through it & remember that nothing is so important that if the stress from being late causes me to die...then it really wouldn't have mattered that much if I was late.
ReplyDeleteWow, I think that shows some really good perspective, and I guess could be applied to lots of situations. Today at work I was making myself crazy, worrying about a project that I was doing. I thought it was taking too long and was going to upset my boss. But, you know what? I did a really good job of it, and if my boss thought it took too long to do, well, he's wrong, it was a darn difficult project. Yes, indeed, it's not worth stressing out and giving myself a heart attack. Thanks for that.
