SERIOUSLY SPEAKING - STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES…

Trite?  Maybe.  But true.

Check this one out:
The world is new to us each morning — that is the Lord's gift, and we should believe we are reborn each day.
Imagine that you truly lived this way…

It means that when you wake up each day you at least begin with a clean slate…

You give yourself that start of the day to appreciate the birdsong, the sun or clouds, or even the rain…

That you breathe deeply and feel the rejuvenating rush of oxygen moving through your body and mind…

How would it feel to start each day with a smile?  Even a little tiny one…

GIVE IT TO YOURSELF!

Today or tomorrow start your day with a good stretch…
next take a really deep breathe… and now another…

Imagine that this day is yours… feel the oxygen moving through your system as you take the time to breathe…

Let yourself think about your dreams… the ones you had last night or the ones you want to have today and tomorrow…

How does it feel to create beauty and harmony at the beginning of your day?

SERIOUSLY SPEAKING - PONLE ALAS A TU VIDA… FLY!

We often try for stability, both physical and emotional… but think about it…

STABILITY IS AN ILLUSION!

Everything - our earth - our lives - is always in motion.

If you try to hold still you are doomed to fail.

If you let yourself feel the weight shift - that amazing, subtle flow of energy - and go with it…  WOOEEE!

LEARNING TO ENJOY THE FLOW
Try this fun fantasy:

Imagine you are a bird floating on an air thermal.

Feel the wind under your wings and the wonderful powerful potential in responding with grace to the flow.

Can you add a sound track in your mind?

Try Patti Labelle's version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJEh9xLrF2I
or any version of "Wind beneath my Wings"

Think about a current circumstance in your life that is about change - perhaps a big one like a move, or a smaller one like a shift in a relationship.

Now go back to your bird energy.

Once again feel yourself flowing gracefully on the currents of air and imagine the changes in your life are like that air flowing under your wings… Can you hear the music?

Feel yourself responding with grace and anticipation of a smooth landing.

SUNDAY SMILES – THE TIP JAR

“God bless you,” the taxi driver said as he carried my packages into the building.

True, he was double parked and blocking the traffic all the way to the corner…

But, hey, he carried all those heavy packages AND blessed me!

And what did I do to deserve this special treatment?

When I paid the fare I added one dollar more than the expected tip…

What do ya think?

Is this a great metaphor or what?

Give a tiny bit extra and get a whole lot more!

SUNDAY SMILES – THE MINIATURE WORLD

Two amazing dragonflies have been visiting my 7th floor terrace – in the middle of New York City!

And the other day we discovered a ‘nest’ of baby ladybugs on the underside of a leaf of bamboo…

“There are those who suggest that a divine force doesn’t exist, but one’s cynicism is truly put to the test when we look at the world of insects, which have been graced with so many amazing characteristics:

wings so thin they seem hardly to be made of any living material, bodies without a single milligram of excess weight, wind-speed detectors accurate to a fraction of a mile per hour, a stride so efficient that mechanical engineers model robots after it,

and, most important, insects’ astonishing ability to survive in the face of overwhelming opposition by man, predators and the elements.

In moments of despair, we can look to the ingenuity and persistence of these miraculous creatures and find solace and a restoration of lost faith.”

- from The Empty Chair by Jeffery Deaver

SERIOUSLY SPEAKING

Recent studies have explored the connection between increased brain function in those of us over 50 and the use of computers.  They theorize that because computers require us to switch mental gears frequently and process information in a new way, their use quickens our mental reaction time.

UPSY DAISY

Who said it doesn’t matter how many times you fall down – only how many times you get up?

Keep that rhythm going.  We are designed for movement!  Keep dancing til the last light is turned off!  Feel the beat.  Dance with your feet – your fingers – your tongues.  Dance with your minds.  All movement is evolutionary.

What do ya say?  Share some of your best moves with us!
