Why do we hold on to our fantasies about how others will behave in the face of concrete reality that points in the opposite direction?
Maybe part of it is our fear about what we would feel if we allowed
ourselves to see the truth.
What do you think would happen?

REMEMBER THOSE THREE MONKEYS? THE
ONES WITH THEIR HANDS OVER THEIR EYES, MOUTH AND EARS…
Think about 2 or 3 examples of YOU refusing to face who
someone else really is and how they are most likely to act towards you.
Maybe a parent?
A sibling?
A friend?
Lover?
Spouse?
In each example ask yourself:
What happened?
What did they do?
How did you react?
Would the story have changed if you 'saw it coming' - if you had allowed yourself to
face how this person was most likely to act?
What's in it for you to hold onto the fantasy?
What does it do for you?
AND FINALLY ... DECIDE IF IT MIGHT BE OKAY TO LET IT GO…
Totally up to you…
