How did we create
the belief that the more complicated something is the more value it has?
Think about how
we learn - in school and in our homes… do you remember learning French in High
School, how about Algebra and World History?
What did the process feel like - and how effective was it? How much did you retain?
Now think about
how you learned to speak your Native Tongue or any other language that you
learned 'on the street'... Did you ever work in a job where you needed math to
survive? Waiter? Cashier?
What happened in those situations to your ability to absorb and retain
these skills?
There is a direct
path to learning and problem solving. It
is actually very elegant and simple - although not necessarily easy…
Check out these two
really beautiful quotes from two of our geniuses:
"Simplicity is the ultimate
sophistication." ~ Leonardo da Vinci
and
"Everything
should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." ~ Albert Einstein

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS
Back stories are
fun, but foreground is often the most direct path to problem solving.
Next time you are faced with a problem,
pay attention to what first comes into your mind - those things that we often
dismiss as 'too simple'.
Ask yourself why
you might reject that solution.
Does it seem too
easy?
Not sophisticated
enough?
Where and when did you learn that the
most direct path - the simple solution - was not good enough?
Now, as an
experiment take one day and allow yourself to choose the simplest ways to deal
with the issues that come up.
These might involve paperwork, housekeeping,
interactions with others...
What happens as you do this? What do you notice about the results and how
you feel. What happens to your breathing?
If you are really
into this experiment you might expect to feel lighter and breathe easier…

ANOTHER CHANCE TO LAUGH WITH US AND LEARN…
