SERIOUSLY SPEAKING - WINTER BLUES

In reality the winter holidays are some of the darkest times emotionally for many of us.
We tend to buy into so much hype about how we are supposed to feel and how supposedly everyone else does feel…
How many times did you hear 'Merry' and 'Happy' over the last month?
'Happy families' is a persistent theme as if all the clashes are going to magically disappear as we sit down to that holiday feast.
And how about those of us who don't have families to go to?
What's the message there?

DANCE WITH IT!   EXPERIENTIAL APPS
An opportunity to experiment with some fun ideas…

REDUCE TOXIC TALES
How often did you buy into these holiday myths?
          *Everyone is happy!
          *Families are all loving!
*Everyone is having a great time!
          *Gifts are very important!
Can you see the hype?
Can you let it go?
What changes when you release these beliefs?

REBALANCING THE SOUL

The dark of winter…
Cold and dreary.
Smart animals hibernate.

What do you do to stay in balance?

Music? (Try Fosse 'Life is just a bowl of cherries')
Dance? (Ever watched Whirling Dervishes?)
Books? (Mysteries?)
Movies? (Remember that guy who cured his heart problems with hours of old comedy movies?)

Crawling under the bed?
Only partly kidding… sometimes it's really okay to do that hibernation thing…

What do ya say?
How do you make it through these dark days?

WINTER BLUES…

"Today I wanted to crawl under the covers and hang out there all day… or maybe until Spring finally shows up…" she smiled wistfully.

"Ugh," she continued, "but I had places to go, things to do…"

Sound at all familiar?

Is it ok to have a down day, you know, one of those days when you don't feel like setting the world on fire - or doing anything at all?

After all … kids get snow days, right?

What do ya say?

Play hokey, anyone?
