SERIOUSLY SPEAKING - LOSER?

Fair, not fair, fair share…
Seriously toxic concepts when it comes to human experience.
Who could have been cruel enough to feed these no-win concepts to tiny growing beings?
Because of course, it is at those young, impressionable moments when we're fed this hogwash.
Why hogwash?  Think about it…
How often does this formula actually pan out - and if it doesn't what does it imply about you?

DANCE WITH IT!   EXPERIENTIAL APPS
An opportunity to experiment with some fun ideas…

DROP THESE JUDGEMENTS!
Fair…
Why me?
Give yourself permission to do what you can to lower stress:
  Deep breathing…
  Find laughs…
  Ask for help…
  Create beauty…
  Look for the light…
Find the positive 'take away' - the learning.

FAIR, SCHMERE…

"IT'S NOT FAIR!"  "IT'S NOT FAIR!"
Ever say this one?
No?

Liar, liar, pants on fire! If you're human, you've said it!

Ever think about how crazy this is?

Ever wonder who decides?

What do ya say?

Who taught you this one?

IS THIS YOUR MANTRA?

One of the most dangerous mantras that we humans adopt is the 'IT'S NOT FAIR' chant.

With this one we pull out all manner of evidence to shore up our belief that life has handed us a nasty slice…

'It's not fair' we moan about anything and everything, imagining that someone else has it better and easier…

Our lists include:  money, health, relationships, grades, office politics…

You know the inventory right?

And, let's face it, as ridiculous as it sounds when we really think about it, it is a tempting melody…

What do ya say?
Can you tell us you've never pulled this one?

GOT ANGER? IS THERE METHOD TO YOUR MADNESS?

His face was red, his voice was a growl and I swear smoke was coming out of his ears!

But was he angry?  No way!

“I am not angry!” he thundered turning that clearly enraged visage in my direction.

Ooo…kay, right!

And then there is always this one:

“I’m feeling some anger,"  she admitted meekly, “but…I’m not sure if it’s fair of me…”

FAIR?

And finally:

How many people do you know whose default setting – their 'go to' response to just about anything – is anger?

How did this emotion get so befuddled?

Is it okay to feel?

To act on?

And if so, how?

What’s your temperature setting on this one?

Cool?
          Medium?
                                 Hot?

What do ya say?  How do you handle anger?

IT’S NOT FAIR!

Fair?  Where did this crazy concept come from?  And how many times have you heard these words?

Probably the first time we hear this when our moms instruct us to “be fair” and share our toys with a younger sib or playpen mate.  Why?  It’s our toy, after all...

But moms always win, and thereby hangs a tail…

Let’s face it, we get set up.  “Fair” transmutes into ‘right’, ‘just’, the ‘way of the world’.  Yikes!

Bad training, because, as all smart kids do, we figure, “Hey, if I have to be fair to them…”

And for the rest of our lives we are shocked, dismayed, disappointed, hurt, and bewildered that –- it just ain’t fair…
