PINK BUBBLE GUM

Do you remember that really pink bubble gum that we all chewed when we were kids?  Bazooka, right?  And remember the smell?

I just found a lipstick that smells – and looks – just like Bazooka bubble gum!  A bit frightening on a woman of a certain age, but what can I tell you?  The memories of childhood chomping trump vanity any day!

And really, who is making these judgments?

How many times throughout your life have you heard that snide tone of voice – theirs? yours? – titcshing:

“Ugh, really, do you believe her, him?  … they should know better…”

The voices criticize everything – skirt too short, hair too long, pants too tight, boyfriend too …  the list is endless!

Spoilsports seem to dog our steps at every age, don’t they?

But you know the mantra:  F**k ‘em if they can’t take a joke…
What do ya think?  Have any good ones to share?

  1. Carol, loved last two posts. The critical people one reminded me of my mother. When I told her she is so critical she once said that she figured I knew how great I was and it was her job make me perfect by correcting the imperfections!!!! Oy!! Healthy parenting strategy!
